It’s almost that time of year again—when the frost is on the vine, the stockings are hung by the chimney with care and the silver bells are ringing.  Ok, who are we fooling?  There is no frost in LA, we all live in apartments and our smartphone ringtones are the only things ringing, BUT each December we DO have the absolute-best-time-you-can-have-on-concrete-under-palm-trees… The 2012 SANTA Monica Pub Crawl is set for Saturday, December 15th!

Last year, over 5,000 people crawled your hearts out to 25 bars, raising over $17,000 dollars for the Westside Food Bank! This year, we are working to make this the biggest and best SANTA Monica Pub Crawl ever with fun prizes and contests, all while helping the less fortunate put food on the table this Holiday Season. So, dust off those antlers, shine up those menorahs and get ready for the 4th Annual SANTA Monica Pub Crawl!

We know that all of Santa’s Little Helpers out there can’t wait for the 2012 SANTA Monica Pub Crawl, and neither can we!

The 4th Annual SANTA Monica Pub Crawl will take place on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at 5PM in Santa Monica, CA at the city’s best bars and restaurants to raise money for those in need during the holidays through a partnership with Westside Food Bank. With your official SMPC wristband you will receive drink and food specials at the participating locations and will automatically be entered into the pub crawl raffle with the chance to win a ton of great prizes.

All SMPC participants are asked to dress in Santa/Holiday attire, either individually or in teams, so that the streets of Santa Monica will be filled with merry cheer, such as: Santa, Mrs. Claus, Elves, Reindeer, Carolers and Santa’s Helpers. The Pub Crawl will feature multiple routes with bars on Wilshire, The Pier, 4th St., Third Street Promenade and Main Street.

Crawlers must Sign Up Online, Pay a $10 donation/entrance fee, Choose a Route and Collect their Wristband and Map at their official starting location.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:

• Download the 2012 Official SMPC Mobile App
• Collect Your Wristband from a Friendly SMPC Volunteer at Your Assigned Starting Location
• Dress Up in Your Favorite Holiday Garb
• Eat, Drink, Be Merry & Spread Good Cheer!

TICKETS:

Tickets are $10. Advance ticket purchase is suggested to avoid lines, however you may also purchase a ticket at your starting location. Your ticket will score you the official pub crawl wristband allowing amazing food & drink specials at all of the bars, as well as entrance into the official After-Party and automatically enters you into a raffle to win prizes such as dinner for two at all of the participating locations. Winner’s will be announced on the website and on the official SMPC Mobile App the week after the event.

A portion of all proceeds from the pub crawl goes to the Westside Food Bank to feed the less fortunate over the holidays.

WRISTBANDS:

Wristbands can be picked up two ways:

#1. At one of the official starting locations along each route between 5pm and 8:30pm the day of the event.

#2. To avoid lines, you can collect your wristband in advance by bringing in a min. of 5 canned food items per person to the Westside Food Bank throughout the month of December. Hours are M-F 10am-5pm. Westside Food Bank.

Big Blue Bus

The Big Blue Bus is offering crawlers unlimited bus rides all night for only $4.00!!!

The “Day Pass” (good from time of activation through the end of service within a 24 hour period is available HERE. BBB’s Route 2 will serve all locations… from Wilshire to 4th to Colorado to Main Street at Ocean Park and it runs every 15 min. 

2012 SANTA Scavenger Challenge:

To participate in the SANTA Scavenger Challenge Hunt, register your team name and number of people by emailing smpcrawl@gmail.com and bring the following items to the official after party. The first THREE teams back to collect all of the items below will receive a SANTA gift bag full of goodies from our sponsors. Winner’s will be announced on the website and on the official SMPC Mobile App the week after the event. Be sure to bring your digital camera or go old school and Polaroid it!

• Get photo with a Food Bank Volunteer at your official START location
• Get Napkin, Matches, business card or other items from all crawl locations on your route
• Take Photo with a SANTA
• Take a Photo under a mistletoe… you know what to do!
• Collect 5 candy canes
• Wear or bring Elf ears, Reindeer Antlers, Santa Hat or Garland necklace
• Get a photo of an ugly holiday sweater
• Get a photo with a naughty elf

• Get the ‘secret password’ from Rusty’s, Main on Main & Renee’s

Remember: To be a team, you must have 5 of more crawlers and every participant must have an official SMPC wristband.

WESTSIDE FOOD BANK

Westside Food Bank’s mission is to distribute as much food as possible to local agencies with food assistance programs and to reduce food waste on the Westside of Los Angeles County. As the food bank warehouse for the Westside since 1981, they annually distribute nearly 4 million pounds of food to the food assistance programs of 65 Westside social service agencies. NO JAYWALKING!

Santa Monica recently increased the cost of a jaywalking ticket to $350 so PLEASE use the cross walks or you WILL get a ticket… and that would be worse that getting coal in your stocking.

The SANTA Monica Pub Crawl is a community event and encourages responsible drinking by participants.  When taking part in any events that involve drinking, always keep safety first. Don’t DRINK and DRIVE and assign a designated driver at the beginning of the night, call a taxi, or use public transportation.
